Cavalry Ulan) regiment badge of Imperial army

I was offered to acquire this rare badge of Smolenski ulanski regiment (Смоленский 3-й уланский полк). I was told, and don't have any reason not to believe, as I trust that man who generally is not familiar at all with the topic, especially not with the fakes on the market. To cut the story short, this badge was found at the estate.

I am stil waiting for better pictures, but may I hope that this could be a genuine one? The enamel looks great, but I have some questions about the bronze core. Any help would be great!
