ADV1025 Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 Gentlemen, I recently stumbled on an old picture saved early on in my ODM interests. The bar itself is most likely fake due to its suspicious devices but what caught my eye again was that it contained both a 25Y Police Long Service Award and 12Y SS Long Service Award. My question is: is this combination possible? I know of examples where policemen were also in the SS at the same time so could they've received both? In addition, does anyone know if the members of some RHSA (SD, Gestapo, Krimpo) received both LSAs due to jurisdictions and duties overlapping? People like Heydrich and Nebe come into mind as possible recipients of both.
Daniel Krause Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 I think no. The SS long service award was only given to Verfügungstruppe and Totenkopfverbände guys, not members of the general SS. Best, Daniel 1
ADV1025 Posted May 5, 2023 Author Posted May 5, 2023 Daniel, thank you once more for your vast knowledge and experience! Related question: did the SD or the Gestapo receive the police long service award or the faithful service award for civil servants?
