Gentlemen, Eduard Wilhelm Bogislaw Hartwich Richard von Winterfeld left the 13. Division in March 1906 and retired (z. D.). I read as GdK, but was he officially promoted or did he receive the Charakter (date)? Does anyone have a picture of him? Thanks!

Slowly but surely ... I know now he was born on 27 May 1847 at Rittergut Carwe (Karwe), Kreis Westprignitz, Regierungsbezirk Potsdam, Province of Brandenburg, Kingdom of Prussia, German Confederation ... I read, he died 1920 (maybe Münster or Blankenburg?), but cannot find a complete date. He joined the Kadettenkorps in Potsdam in May 1860 and was Sekondeleutnant in the Brandenburgisches Husaren-Regiment (Zietensche Husaren) Nr. 3 in 1866 (stayed there until 1891), taking part in the war of 1866 and 1870/71. No known children with his wife Hedwig Florentine Charlotte Louise Marie Freiin von Zedlitz und Neukirch aus dem Hause Pischkowitz.
