Veltro
Hi all, I just purchased some Belgian medals and medal boxes. One of the boxes made by ‘Fisch Bruxelles” has letters Z.P. on it. Does anyone know the meaning of this. Possibly an abbreviation of the medal. Greetings, Christiaan
revolutie1830
Hi Veltro. This case is for the "Silver Palmes Order of the Crown" or in dutch "Zilveren Palmen in de Kroonorde" Z for Zilver : Silver P for Palm : Palm greetings, Werner
Veltro
Dear Werner, Thank you for your fast reply! I suspected The Kroonorde, due to the typical crown on the box, but I was not suspecting any of the Palm or Medals due to the lack of the K. See a picture of my small Kroonorde collection. The lower boxes are with "text" and my the boxes I already owned have G.P.K. or G.M.K. Learned something new! Quick question on this box with M. 1e: do you know that one? Burgelijke Medaille 1st Class maybe? But I only know them with text B. Medaille. Greetings, Christiaan
revolutie1830
Hello Christiaan, nice collection Order of the Crown. Those boxes with "text" as you probably allready know meaning: - POC / GPK = Palmes d'Or Couronne / Gouden Palmen Kroonorde - MOC / GMK = Médaille d'or Couronne / Gouden Medaille Kroonorde Box with M 1e is probably for the Civilian medal 1st class but also could be for an other medal, Burgerlijke Medaille 1914-1918. (Civilian Medal 14-18) Werner

(Civilian Medal 14-18) You could be right with it being for the Civil Medal 1s class. I have the Civil Medal 14-18 (1st and 2nd class) in their box. Th "M 1e" is the same as here but it has the date 1914-1918 above it. As usual (for some reason) the 1st clas is a red box, 2nd class a blue one. Both boxes are from "H. Walraevens & Co." My Fonson one has a different box. Kind regards, Vincent
