    Yes of course.

If taken in August, that's was 3 month before his death by Spitfires of 92 Sq.

    Hello Joe,

If you are interested to pay a visit, Ensslen was buried at Folkestone New Cementery,

    Block: 0, grave: 404.

    Regards

    Fran

I know all about grave 404, this grave has the name A. Schenk, until the VDK have the money to replace it.

When En?len was killed, he was not identified, no ID or EM disc on his body, only the shoulder badges of a Hauptmann, he died when he bailed out at a low altitude, and his parachute did not have time to open properly, the name A. Schenk, was on a label on his parachute harness, probably the guy who packed the chute, with the lack of any other ID, he was buried under that name, so that was it, until September 2004, when I was able to convince the German authorities that this was En?len's grave.

His widow, Gertrud, who is now 87, lives in Stuttgart, she still has all her late husbands medals.

    Regards

    Joe

Superinteresting story :o Love to know such details.

It is know who from 92 Sq. RAF (Spitfires) shot down him?

    Regards

    Fran

Yes, Squadron Leader Johnny Kent, he records his scrap with En?len as "the only real, full-blooded dogfight I ever had"

    Joe.
