Alfred Posted October 26 Posted October 26 1) Meritorious Service in Battle medal 2) Distinguished Labour Medal What do you think about the medals? Are they original or were the serial numbers added later? I tend to like the battle medal (1) and I think the Labour medal (2) was made out of a later variant. Medal with U-shaped ring oder ring part of the medal. best regards and thanks Andreas
Egorka Posted October 26 Posted October 26 (edited) The Distinguished Labour Medal is definitely bad... For the FCM, I am more open... though the engraving stile is not quite matching the range, according to my limited knowledge. But there is a chance the medal is good. Would it be possible to make a sharp photo of FCM reverse but under an angle (not straight down)? Edited October 26 by Egorka
Egorka Posted October 27 Posted October 27 As for me, it is 50/50, but maybe someone else can speak up.
Egorka Posted October 27 Posted October 27 (edited) is the thickness 2.9-3.0 mm ? Also, it is not an exclusive sign as it can be 50/50, but if you see concentric circles on the on he reverse, these are definitive sign of authenticity. But not all authentic medals in that range have those. Edited October 27 by Egorka
Alfred Posted October 28 Author Posted October 28 Many thanks for your explanation. These are the picture I have collected in my database. My electronic measure tool is at the moment out of order. I will measure the thickness of the medal in the next days. best regards Andreas

Mondvor Posted November 3 Posted November 3 Labor medal is very primitive fake. Military Merit looks fine to me. Here is close number medal (disregard incorrect suspension) with similar handwriting in serial number. 1
