1812 Overture Posted November 9 Posted November 9 Okay, I know this is not an officially released medal, but I just want to know the meaning of the text on the back? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated 1
Farkas Posted November 9 Posted November 9 Hi Overture, The writing around the edge is the name of a place/county : Pest-Pilis-Solt-Kiskun & (Hungarian): vármegye means County vármegye : refers to the counties of the Kingdom of Hungary. It is the name of a type of administrative unit in Hungary. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:Pest-Pilis-Solt-Kiskun_vármegye the middle bit maybe someone can read better than I ? 🤞 cheers tony 🍻 1
