    Guest Rick Research

    The reverse will certainly help with possible national origin.

    Could be a St John or Malta from a number of European countries, or something regimental/"Freikorps" out of the Russian Civil War.

    Here are some better pictures.

    I think I've seen it on some German uniform - could it be a Freikorps medal as Rick says?

    Cheers, Stefan

    Hallo Stefan :beer: , Page 453 of Orders And Ehrenzeichen by J?rg Nimmergut. Catalog of 2004 / 2005 shows a similar piece (3387).

    DESCRIPTION ON PAGE 457 Freikorps:

    DEUTSCHRITTER-KREUZ, 1919. I Class, Steckkreuz Br. vs/vg 180,-

    Br = Bronze, vs/vg = silver or gold gilt. 180,- = Price 180 Euro.

    Thanks Kevin! :beer:

    I only have that book from 2003/2004 and without its picture.

    If you have time...can you send me a scan of it, so I can see how similar it is?

    Cheers, Stefan

    No, that's black enamel.

    Hallo Rick, :beer: Black enamel is clearly visible in the picture used, but in the description in the book for item number: 3387. it states what I wrote above, strangely there is no mention of black enamel (was J?rg having a bad hair day??) :beer:

    Kevin.

    PS maybe Stefan piece has had all the enamel removed??
