Here is the 93.Infanterie-Division award list (Source: Bundesarchiv RH 7/1894) showing the man's name and using his date of birth details, Volksbund shows that this soldier has been Missing in Action in Kurland ever since 01-01-1945.

What hucks216 wrote would be appropriate. Battalion  was established in February 1942 in Military District IX from half of the 634th Rifle Battalion (which had been established in Fulda on June 13, 1940).
It temporarily became I./ Regiment 120 in July 1944, then again Fortress Battalion 657.

Subordinate to:
Norway (280th Infantry Division)
November 1943 Northern Russia (Division 285)
since March 1, 1944, under Regiment 120
Deployed in January 1944 near Golubowka (Ukraine?), July Riga,
1945 Courland, last with the 24th Infantry Division
