Chris Boonzaier Posted June 4, 2006 Posted June 4, 2006 discreetly deactivated, but all parts original and still moving.....
Tony Posted June 4, 2006 Posted June 4, 2006 Should I expect an invite to view it?Do you have Euros down there in Bavaria?
Chip Posted June 4, 2006 Posted June 4, 2006 (edited) Chris,It's a dream of mine to own one, but the current prices put them out of reach. I should have bought one back in the 1970s when they were less than $2,000. I have never seen a Bavarian manufactured one before. That has got to be a rarity. Congratulations!ChipP.S Do they make reproduction carrying straps for the MG08/15? Edited June 4, 2006 by Chip

I just know I have never seen one for sale before. The MAN factory made a small amount. All the numbers match except the cover to the spring. The weapon was captured by a Canadian soldier and taken back to Canada, where I picked it up last week.I saw repro leather straps for USD28.
Guest Rick Research Posted June 4, 2006 Posted June 4, 2006 "discreetly deactivated, but all parts original and still moving..."Sounds like me on a GOOD day! (You just wait!) Ohhhhkay, next for the sled mount? And how, in this complicated day and age, did you get the Mindless Minions' uninformed and capriciously arbitrary permissions to exit and enter with that thing?Don't TELL me you used the old "antique floor model carpet sweeper, no commercial value" dodge!? Or did you dis-assemble it, scatter it through multiple luggage, and call it a patent model of a new and experimental restaurant size pepper mill? Next time I talk to you I'll tell you a story about an aircraft model.
Chris Boonzaier Posted June 4, 2006 Author Posted June 4, 2006 Don't TELL me you used the old "antique floor model carpet sweeper, no commercial value" dodge!? More or less exactly that one ......
Guest Rick Research Posted June 4, 2006 Posted June 4, 2006 Sharing seat, on 7 hours flight: "What? What? It's a classic Hollywood newsreel CAMERA, fer cryin' out loud!!!"
Daniel Murphy Posted June 4, 2006 Posted June 4, 2006 Chris, That is a beauty. The MAN ones are not often found. I wish we could have them like that in the states. Here you have to torch cut the right side plate, which cuts down on the displayability. You can have a fake sideplate put on but it has to be made thick, so the lock cannot be inserted. Here is a link to a Place you may have seen. IMA has a lot of parts and accessories for the 08/15 including the drum hanger and drums. They are repros, but are used at events and are very nice quality.Dan MurphyIMA
