Daniel Murphy Posted June 25, 2006 Posted June 25, 2006 (edited) Another fake flight badge that might be worth the start price of $2.99. Note the casting pock marks and poor cut outs in the crown. Daniel Murphy Posted June 25, 2006 Author Posted June 25, 2006 (edited) The engraving is not, it looks stamped to me. Then you have the fake tarnish in the "engraving", the silver marks (with a crown) on a plate in an odd spot etc. Wouldn't fool an experienced collector, but might snare to new one. Luftmensch Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 Wow, I missed that...very very creative...and at that price a chance to start a great collection of fakes at the ground floor. Thanks, Daniel!
Guest Rick Research Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 I always enjoy seeing the handiwork of gits who think Olde Englishe is the same as German Gothic. Yeesh.

Daniel Murphy Posted June 26, 2006 Author Posted June 26, 2006 (edited) Like this one from an old glass plate negative. Between 1958 and 1959, this rare badge was stolen from West Berlin's Kunstgewerbemuseum. Dan Murphy Edited June 26, 2006 by Daniel Murphy
