PKeating Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 (edited) No particular reason for posting these other than to share them as nice examples of the three types of Schnellboot-Kriegsabzeichen and a quite rarely encountered Rudolf Souval Flotten-Kriegsabzeichen. What's nice about the French-made badge is that it has not been retouched with that garish gold paint like so many of the French KM badges one sees. It is, as the French say, dans son jus. Gordon Williamson Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 Very nice indeed ! I always felt that the AS Second Pattern E-Boat badge was superior to the Schwerin one, at least the surviving examples seem to have retained their finish much better than Schwerin pieces.
Stogieman Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 Nice group of badges. I have always found this to be the second most attractive of the KM badges. But very hard to find.....
PKeating Posted July 22, 2006 Author Posted July 22, 2006 Thanks guys. You're right about the AS badges, Gordon. I have only ever seen one that was bereft of its finish. The strike quality is really impressive too.PK
JBeltram Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 Hello Prosper,Great little collection. I really like S-boot badges. The AS S-boot is one of my favorites and they do hold their finish.Regards, Jody
