JapanX Posted July 18, 2012 Author Posted July 18, 2012 Cavaliers of foundation medal .... Their name is Legion.
JapanX Posted July 18, 2012 Author Posted July 18, 2012 Very interesting photo of admiral Zengo Yoshida
JapanX Posted July 18, 2012 Author Posted July 18, 2012 What is this?! I mean this first medal/order in the bar??? Maybe this one (known as Hokkaido prefecture award "for faithfulness")? Obverse
pieter1012 Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 Interesting the painting of admiral Yamamoto Isoroku, it is the first time I see it. The painter took some liberties as admiral Yamamoto was awarded pothumously in 1943 the Grand Cordon of the order of the Chrysanthemum and the first class of the Golden Kite. In the painting Yamamoto has also the breaststar of the second class Golden Kite, but as far as my information goes, he was never awarded the second class. Pieter
JapanX Posted July 18, 2012 Author Posted July 18, 2012 Something very strange is going on with Rear Admiral RaizoTanaka medal bar ;)

This is posthumous portrait painted after the famous photograph + necessary "upgrades" Regards, Nick
drclaw Posted July 18, 2012 Posted July 18, 2012 VERY nice Nick! Thanks for posting all these beautiful bling. I've seen that photo of Kuribiyashi before, but only noticed the Order of United Glory breast star now. That first photo of Togo was extraordinary with the close-up. Not only is he wearing the Manchukuo Order of the Illustratious Dragon, but tucked into an obscure corner, is the Qing Empire Order of the Double Dragon!

Quite often they simple cut the bottom part Barbarians... That first photo of Togo was extraordinary with the close-up.
