Noor Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 I just got this nice piece and I would like to know, is it just patriotic cross?
Tom Y Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 These and other minis were sold through ad in the backs of American comic books in, I believe, the 50's. At one time I had a scan of one on the original card. Alas, now long gone. Collectible, none the less.
coastie Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 (edited) Indeed it is a Mini medal out of a comic book. I've been meaning to start a thread about it. But here is the Iron Cross and card. Edited September 2, 2007 by coastie

Chesley Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 "authentic reproduction"...i love it! i'd sure hate to getstuck with a reproduction reproduction....Ah, to write ad copy in the 1950s !My favorite was a TV ad for plastic soldiers. With just one bucket full of this product, one was told, a kid could create"Realistic battle-like action"authentic reproductions of famous medalsto be awarded at the conclusion.
