    1. Ahh well you live and learn Seems to be a few of these type badge designs which are considered fantasy. I was a little concerned by the pin and finish to the reverse which seemed a little too new, but as you say a well made badge, designed to deceive. Perhaps we can list some of the other well known fantasy pieces in this thread ?
    2. What do you think of this ? Looks very new with modern manufacturing finish ?
    3. I think this thread has run its course and rather than see another bout of deleted threads like the last thread I just had to delete from Theodor I am going to lock this subject.
    4. If you ever need medals mounted again. Let me know, I have a contact with a military tailor who works for the Regiment of Guards, he will get you things mounted just as professionally for a lot less !!!!!!!!!
    5. Tinnie to commemorate the opening of Nuremberg Airport August 1933
    6. Flight 1859 you have already posted this twice before. It isn't going to change the fact that it is a masters membership badge for Reichsarbeitsgemeinschaft f?r Berufserziehung im Deutschen Gastst?ttengewerbe which badly translates as the Reich Labour Group for Occupational Education in the German Catering Trade. Despite some similarities it has nothing to do with the SS
    7. The RLB Reichsluftschutzbund, or National Air Raid Protection League was in many ways like the British ARP. A Civil Defence association created in 1933 which had virtually compulsory membership for most civilians especially in the large towns and cities by the mid 1930s. They were a reactive resource used for warden and firewatch duties and were not employed in offensive defence measures i.e. flak units. I think that they came under the luftwaffe control and were later in the war assisted by the creation of a more professional body the Luftschutzpolizei
    8. I agree with Don that it symbolism, maybe based on Apollo as opposed to Sagittarius? Defending the skys with his arrows. The top of the tinnie says Luftschutz ist Selbstschutz Air Defence is Self-Defence.
    9. Cheers Uwe Confirmed what I thought I will move the post accordingly
    10. Can anyone identify these stick pins. I am presuming they are Post War Veterans Pins ?? The first two look more in keeping with the pre 1945 manufacture so are probably made shortly after the war (the ten year perhaps in mid 1950s). The last one seesm to be of more modern construction as would be expected 30+ years after the war.
    11. Detlev had quite a few of these for sale last year, I had a look at them but passed on them. I have a similar type Meissen medallion which was for the 1933 Reichsparteitag
