    1. Not a Steinhauer this time but a lovely Otto Schickle, marked 835 on the lower edge of the reverse frame and fractionally larger than a Steinhauer.
    2. A very wierd variant. Dipping eye suggests second style frame, so can't be a "prototype". Frame is 935 marked. Not lack of obverse detail
    3. A nice second type with non-marked frame but burnishing marks suggest it is silver, not plate. Dipping eye and second type core. Not by now the loops were non-original style and elongated. Still has frosting though.
    4. A second type, with later core and later frame with "dipped eye". 800 silver. Still some attempt to achieve frosting here.
    5. Another nice early one with 800 silver frame and first type centre.
    6. A "transitional type" with early style well finished 800 silver frame but with second type core with convex oakleaves.
    7. Some more images I've been sorting through while transferring stuff to a new computer. Here are a range of 1957 RK. First up, a nice early Steinhauer made piece using the original frame tooling , this one has certainly been worn by a vet. 800 silver marked
    8. Yes, but they do look even better with one of these in them
    9. Hi Terry, No I'm not getting heavily into EKs again, I just kept my favourite example of each type. These are just images I've been sorting through. U-Boats are still my main interest, plus KVKs and I have developed a very strong interest in Japanese awards which I'd have to say are far superior in quality to German stuff.
    10. Interior base covering is dark blue velvet.
    11. Very similar case to the 1939 EKs but slightly different proportions. Note the rounded front edge to the lid.
    12. The recess in the interior is an exact match for the standard 1939 EK2 shape, and wouldn't suit the "Schinkel" style form of a 1914 EK2.
    13. This one looks more akin to some of the Imperial EK2 boxes, with button down press stud catch on a flap at the front
    14. The most interesting part is the stickers on the base !!!
    15. The Cross itself is unmarked
    16. Little fabric retaining strap for the lid is nice.
    17. Another, rather plain from the outside.
    18. Close up of the mark - a retailer rather than manufacturer.
    19. Just going through some of the pics for the revised print of the Iron Cross book. Here are a couple of interesting pieces. Exterior Shot.
    20. Very, very nice Dave.
    21. Heres a closer view of the image on the card. The main features of a Hymenn style badge are quit evident on the wartime photo. The "blocked in" deck gun, the filled in area around the eagles neck, the lack of propeller, and also the raised ballast tanks. The Hymenn type were the only ones to represent the tanks realistically with a raised feature and not an indented line.
