Commanders Cross Ordre National du M?rite (France), and he is olso wearing still his officers cross in the same order normaly you only whear the highst rank of the order.

That is correct the ? of the grandsash of the order of leopold = normaly 70 mm the one of the commanderscross = normaly 60 mm but at this moment the manufactures put commandercrosses on the grandsash, the crosses of 60 mm in stad of those of 70 mm the grandcrosses ont he order of the african Star, Royal order of the Lion, Crownorder and Order of Leopold II has the same juwel as the commanderscross on the sash, and this is correct

You have to look for the marks of the manufacture on the suspention ring, bellow were the leaves are comming tougether or on the bridge between the crown of leaves and the star The gold One is probebly made by Georges Aucoc the mark is ont he bridge between the leaves and the star His mark is "G A and a woulf walking with the head at the left". G. Aucoc was actif between the 21 of june 1907 until 20 january 1921 you can find a lot of marks of manufactures on R?pertoire des auteurs
