    1. Very nice John. Note the quality of this piece compared to the one shown earlier http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=4269 Cheers Don
    2. Thanks Benten & Pat. Pm sent Cheers Don
    3. Sorry for my late reply. I wanted to fully read the article before I did so & have only just had the time to do so. You may well have a good point there James. It may also explain why there is so little known about the RDK. I've often wondered about them, the mothers cross was in place to reward large families so why have another organisation?..... Perhaps the members where the ones who took the adopted children in? Cheers Don
    4. As some of you may remember, I was lucky enough last year & again earlier this year to pick up a couple of complete badge & pin collections. Well it's happened again, 112 in total, some very rare pieces as well. Once I've sorted & scanned them all I'll post some more detailed images, & as before some of the more common ones will be looking for a new home. I apologies for the poor picture but I was desperate to get a shot before the sun went down. Cheers Don
    5. I really do not know what to make of this. My first impression was that it is a fantasy piece made to catch people out. However, having now seen the back I am not so sure, it looks too well made...... I can not find any reference to an AH Schule badge at all in any of my books. Can you read the name of the maker? I can not make it out on my small screen. I think that it is one of those items that I would need to "feel" to make a firm judgment either way. Anyone else have any idea? Cheers Don
    6. May we see an image of the back of the badge please. Cheers Don
    7. And keep 'em rolling 4 more beauties there Mike. The one in post 193 looks like the centre from a Nordfont cross, very interesting. I love the last one Thanks for helping keep the thread alive. Cheers Don
    8. Thanks for the link Joe, to my shame I don't tend to wander up to the other areas so had missed that thread. Very interesting. Cheers Don
    9. Reverse marked GRR, the scanner just can't pick it up I'm afraid
    10. While we're waiting for Rosenberg, here's a members pin for the NS Beamtenfachschaft (The NS Official Trade Association) H? 3507a. It's so tiny, measuring only 12.34mm across.
    11. Now you take all my fun away by answering my questions before I've even read the post You know me too well Some great pins there Mike. No real idea as to what the last couple are, a Fachschaft is a sort of trade association or union, but what the POL bit is for?? I imagine that Polizei is too easy, what do you think Robert? I like the first one with the added Swaz, very nicely done as well. Thanks for sharing. Cheers Don
    12. Interesting to see the maker mark is in a different form to the the pieces shown earlier Cheers Don
    13. Let's try: [attachmentid=58605][attachmentid=58604] How's that? I resized yours to match. I've suspected for quite a while that these have been widely faked, the trick is finding how to spot them. The pin plate is a good start, but I suspect that they've already been done with round ones. I'm not even 100% sure that mine is good yet...... It may be a trick of the eye but it seems to me sometimes that some of these badges are narrower than others. If it's not a figment of my imagination then that could be a clue. Cheers Don
    14. Indeed. I'm not sure that these Opferring badges were for the donors, but for the staff shaking the tins or in the offices counting in the cash..... Cheers Don
    15. Very nice Robert, you kept that one quiet..... I do not believe that these are tinnies at all, but membership badges given either to those who worked voluntarily as Benten mentions, or to the paid workers to distinguish them from the others. Personally I would think that they were for the volunteers as a sort of thank you. Cheers Don
    16. Ok, let's give it a try.......... [attachmentid=58226] Seems to have accepted it I would assume the same as you Robert. These are very rare, & if they had been faked I would guess that we would be seeing more of them. Cheers Don
    17. Indeed a rare find, congratulations Robert. I believe that they were worn at the throat, but so far have never found a picture of one in wear. If you wish you can send the reverse to me & I shall post it for you. Thanks for showing it to us. Cheers Don
    18. You sure don't, it's a beauty of a badge whatever it is Cheers Don
    19. Nice badge Erich. I'm wodering whether it's another variation for the rallies that happened on this date in D?sseldorf. I'm sure that you are familier with the tinnie I've posted below which has a similar design, it can also be found without the HJ wording. Perhaps it was a badge for the dignitaries attending the events? If it was an award I would expect to see the date of 26 Mai 1923 somewhere on it as this was the actual date on which he was executed near Dusseldorf. Cheers Don
    20. Thanks & looking forward to seeing more Cheers Don
    21. Very nice Mike. These are new to me as well....... Can't quite make out the wording on the bottom pin, is it for shooting? Oh, & no, I haven't seen the justice with oakleaves either Cheers Don
    22. Lehmann & Wundenberg, Hanover was making badges during the NS period as I have a racing pigeon badge made by them. I won't post it here as it will deviate from the question, but at least you know that the manufacturer was around at that time. Cheers Don
    23. Benten/Robert, The DLV badge with the aeroplane is not a tinnie but a membership badge for the DLV, it's the type 3 pattern. Cheers Don
