Can't really help with names I'm afraid exept to say that one of them looks to be the same official shown shaking hands with king Boris on page 98 in Angolia's book "In the Service of the Reich". These ones seem to have the Swastika burnished, doing by the way the light reflects off of them.

I dug out the picture this evening, those other scans were taken over a year ago before I learnt how to tweak the settings. This is the badge done at a higher res, can't go any higher without loosing definition. No bad considering it can't be seen with th naked eye with the picture in your hand..... Cheers Don

Is this the badge you are talking about Robert? It looks like what the dealers tend to call a sympathiser broach, but you often see these things being worn by these types of groups & I suspect that there is more to them than just sympathiser broaches. Collecting pictures can be as addictive as collecting the badges themselves & just as expensive. I've been known to pay more for a rare image of a badge being worn than it would cost for the badge itself Sometimes the details can be amazing, for instance the original of that group shot above is only 3 inches long...... Nice shot of the NSF depot Stephen, I'd like to see one of those wall hangings myself. Notice the stylised Swastika used on it. Robert, Hard to say for sure because of the light, but I'm pretty sure it's an enamelled DJ badge. What do you think? Cheers Don

When you look at the whole picture, there is a variety of sizes being worn, the smallest by the two women on the extreme right. And check out those flags! I'd love one of those...... However, I'm not sure about Mickey Mouse in the back row Cheers Don

Hi Stephen, welcome. Some nice pins there, I agree that we have to treat that article with caution, I'd like to see more research done to answer some of those questions once & for all. I worry that too many original items may be being trashed just because we are sometimes over cautious with them. Robert, I noticed the mis-spelling of the name as well. I don't know if it is a good badge or not, I do like it. In hand it is a little beauty, but time will tell I suppose. it is indeed a blob of red enamel on the reverse. Cheers Don

No type III here I'm afraid, haven't found one I'm happy with yet, although I'm hoping to receive a collection of enamels in a week or so, so here's hoping that there may be one in there. In the meantime, back to the Type I. H?sken lists the ones at the top of this thread as Type I, 2nd form, so I suppose we could call it Type Ib. Below is what he calls Type I 1st form, so for ease of use, Type Ia. It's also shown as a drawing in the infamous article us Frauenschaft collectors know so well. (as another confusing point, both that article & H?sken show the Type Ib to have a beaded background to the red, not elongated flecks that we see here ) It doesn't appear as well made as the Type Ib & I'm not sure quite what to think of it, but I'll show it here anyway. I'm still looking for the Type Ic version (H?sken Type I 3rd form). Cheers Don

I still can't quite get ny head around these, what ones should be numbered, what ones not, whether all came in bronze, silver & gold etc...... I too have been trying to secure a marked one to no avail, unless they were all turned out by one maker I would have thought one of them would have marked them. Angolia only gives them the briefest of comments on it in his work on Labour Organisation, as does the Men at Arms book on female auxiliaries. Be nice if any other forum members could post theirs...... Cheers Don
