    1. Hi IG, like this, but the gegenplatte has been turner up 45 degrees on the photo Hi, I have run a few EK1s through it, all fit perfectly. But CD800 are issued I think, therefor should not be original to the box? The deep cutouts make me think this was not for a pinback. Unfortunately I dont have any Meybauers anymore to testz.
    2. Check out this beauty.... I have never seen one like this.... and the interior seems to be set up for the Meybauer with EK shaped gegenplatte? (Not a Meybauer pictured in the box) Have never been this excited to own a box!!
    3. He is listed as Leutnant in the 4th Company, lightly wounded in the November-December 1915 casaulty lists
    4. While leaning out the wifes grandmothers attic I found the following Norweigan Rucksack. I am assuming (no proof) that the Grandfather brought it back from Narvik. His destroyer went down and all his stuff was lost, so I believe this may have been a bringback. It seems to be civilian with army stamps? If indeed the norweigans stamped their stuff like this it would be Infantry Regiment 15? That unit was in narvik as well. Of course, I could be totally wrong? :-)
    5. Hi, Are these military issue? This seems to be stamped IR15 on the back.... One which I assume my wifes grandfather brought back from Narvik has the same stamp....
    6. Hi, He missed the "money shots"... the theme was a sentimentle journey aout places they had seen and visited.... Some nice shots of Bosmont farm... Battalion HQ There is a special intrest group who likes those...
    7. Check out the last lot of updates, some pretty cool stuff!!! http://kaiserscross.com/152301.html
    8. The Full info from Dave so far... "Georg Jockers, württ. Verdienstkreuz on 20.12.1916 as a Feldwebel., 1.MGK/IR 126. Also, there was a Sgt.-Fahnenschmied Jockers in IR 126 who got the Baden Silver Merit Medal on the Karl-Friedrich ribbon in March 1915. Presumably the same guy." I am guessing he will be pretty elusive, have ordered the Regt History which should arrive this week.
    9. This is the nicest I have seen... sold as a copy.... http://www.ebay.de/itm/Etui-fur-Eiserne-Kreuz-1-Klasse-1914-mit-Aufdruck-EK-Preussen-Deutsch-1WK-2WK/141697106358?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140117130753%26meid%3D3c2687292b524bd4bc9e28c365872f39%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D4%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D400979443101 Not bad work!
    10. Hi, yeah, probably something else, i thought a carving knife set but comparing size it is probably too short. At the last big Militaria show I was at in Germany 2 sellers had medium sized cardboard boxes full of old boxes like these (and similar). I bought a couple as they are useful to keep odds and ends in, cost 10-15 EUR each.... some people buy em and made spurious interiors for awards ;-)
    11. Nice! Especially the leather trousers. They are too often automatically identified as Sturmbataillon Trousers.
    12. This postcard from the 50th Anniversary of the 4th Bavarian Field Artillery shows all the different kinds of Guns lined up...
