    6. The little swastika is very similar to the one worn on the cap in some Legion Condor Photos?
    7. 3 Variations of the mecical center. Regiments are not big enough to have a Medical antenne so the 162e regoups the personal of a few units
    8. It has been some time since I bought a medal bar... but this one was just fine.... 🙂
    9. Hi Antonio, He was a German, do you think he was in the legion? Or was he an instructor from the Legion Condor?
    10. Hi, can anyone identify this one? Thanks, Chris
    11. I had a couple of document groups where the guy was awarded the EK2 twice. in one case an officer was awarded it twice in 1914... he had changed commands and both commands awarded him the EK2... but it did not mean he could wear two. Another group was a guy who got the postwar EK2 awarded twice as the awarding authority changed and they overlooked the fact that it had been already awarded. I think there is no official way to wear two. although, if someone had served in GSWA before the war he may have had the the black and white ribbon on the bar... and some collector just swapped out the medals?
    12. I have not found anything in a couple of years... But having said that, I have not been casting a wide net, i.e. I am avoiding wanting to buy things because they are "Nice"... but only if they fit the limits of "alpenkorps"... so not a lot going...
    13. A Bavarian Artillery officer on the staff during the war....
    14. That... and beer and the occasional womens beach volleyball on the telly...
    15. Spent a lot of time looking into and reading up on my regiments history, as well as chasing down badges ot the regiment... a totally different world of collecting... but many pieces just as elusive as with German collecting
    16. After a rather long break for Bavarian collection, an update of the Leibregiment association badges...
    17. Hi, Its pretty vanilla... the officer spent some early war months in the Vogesen, was sick a lot, then served in the ersatz battalion of the 11th Infantry Regiment... and was discharged halfway through the war...
    18. A nice little set... Ernst Gattermeyer was born in April 1899, he was in the army from May 1917, getting to the front in May 1918 with the 20th Bavarian Reserve Infantry Regiment... Releayed in February 1919 he joined the Freikorps Würzburg on the 22 April 1919, on the 12th of June 1919 he transfered to a Bayerische Schutzen Regiment... the armband has a faint stamp like the one on the document
    19. I have been a way for a while, I just lost my collecting mojo and my WW1 Bavarian "phase" was layed on ice... but in the background I started collecting badges to my old Regiment... Mainly metal ones, but here are the patches I have found,,,,, 1st and 2nd Company 3rd and 4th Company The 5th company only existed for a few years, but during a sejour in the ivory coast the platoons of the 5th also had badges made The SAED or section d’aide à l’engagement débarqué have existed for about 10-12 years now and are a section sized commando element in the regiment One of the toughest patches to find.... the platoon leader keeps them under lock and key, only for members of the sniper section and an occasional VIP visitor, so I was very very lucky to get one of these
