    3. Well, burned out always lasts a week or two... but its like the Movie groundhog day..... I am always back at the start at some point. Anyone know how many were awarded? Thanks Chris

    5. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...Item=6269135784 Good deal or bad medal ? Need answer really really really fast..... Thanks Chris
    6. Up side is it would be around EUR700, which is not thaaaat expensive.
    7. I hope to soon. Basically it is a M15 with added top pockets (crown buttons). Collar is high with 2 hooks and same colour as jacket (a la Bayern). Folded back cuffs and no shoulder boards. Dwn side is a matchbook sized moth hole on the back of a sleeve. It is stamped 1916.
    8. A friend has a real barn find. A M15 Feldbluse with added top pockets... The question is... it is 99% sure it belonged to a Bavarian... the collar is the same field grey colour as the tunic, it is a high one (2 clips like NCO or officer). On the collar are 2 red collar badges. they are rectangular with the corners slightly rounded off. about 6-7 cms long and 3cms wide. It seems there was a device of some sort in the top right corner. Is this Landsturm? I cannot seem to find anything similar. The pockets have the orrigianl crown buttons so i dont think it was used post WW1. Thanks Chris
    9. I remember about 5-6 years ago, a number of very advanced collectors in the states, and one of THE biggest dealers in the states told me the top hook clasps were the work of imaginative fakers and that there was no such beast. It seems to have been the belief of many US collectors at the time. When did this change?
    10. And this is very interesting. See the way his name is on a line of its own. I assume each member of thepatrol go a copy where his name was most prominent. As his papers all seem to have been there, i assume this served as his EK doc although the award was a bit later.
    11. Terrible writing here.... I get about 80% of it, can anyone help with the rest?
    12. I read the link... So... when you are captured... only yourname, rank and number... and the emeny will tell your unit from the coin you carry ;-) ....or do you swallow it before capture?
    13. What do the Panzer ones have? "Ketten-something"? Best Chris
    14. It may be to a panzer man... but it isnt for panzers is it?
    15. I assume from the order of the medals on the ribbon bar, MVK, EK and then HK that this bar was not worn on a 3rd Reich military or paramilitary uniform, but on the guys Firemans uniform.
    16. On the left a worked in safety pin, then a long, blood poisoning pin going diagonally down....
