    1. Bearded Dude seems to have first put on his woolies, then the boots, then the gamaschen, then folded the Woolies over the top of the gamaschen.... Here is a real Mountain man!
    2. But I have never seen a Sturm bataillon use one. Normal Battalions, Armee Korps etc, but I have never seen a Sturmbatailion Nr. XY... If the dicument in question just has St. b. XIV, then maybe a transitional thing, when the Sturmbataillon had been formed within the AK but not yet numbered? i.e. Sturm Bataillon XIV Armeekorks? Best Chris
    3. Indeed, i saw the owner was in the Leib regiment in 1905, so they are prewar. Best Chris
    4. Hi, do you know when they got the 2nd MG company? The Feldpost Numbers I have are 100 and 60 It also depends if men from Rohr were training people elsewhere... If so, they would have had the stamp of the unit they were visiting as a FP number.
    5. Hi, It may be 3. Armee FP number but it is a Roman II, more often used for "Müller IV" or "Schroeder II" when having more than one guy with that name? There is also no number on the stamp, just "Sturmbataillon"... which makes me think "Rohr" as Rohr was the only one to have no number at the beginning, before others were formed. "Sturmbataillon Nr. XY" is the standard form all my Sturmbataillon stamps have. So far I have no Beleg of SB Nr.2 so that would be okay as well, but I am still tending towards the original "Sturmbataillon" Best Chris
    6. OK, Found him, Eugene Steinhauer, 2nd Company Leib Regiment in 1905, during the war Landwehr Regiment 5
    7. I hope to get the rust pots off without any damage. Do you know which units wore silver ones? I was told Leib Regiment.
    8. Very close to a bavarian one... I wonder what it could be??
    9. A Nice postcard from 2 guys from the MGK, the stamp used is still just "Sturmbataillon" and no Nr. 5
    10. Check on the top bar, it say Home Articles members sales blog gallery etc. etc
    11. It seems that the Rotbart Razors are early 1920s... so that points to a later pedigree
    12. Hi, I will be the lawyer here... I dont know if the box is innocent (Pre 1918) or Guilty (Post 1918) but I will defend neutrally. It seems the coumpany LICO was a Dresden company that used to make Drugstore articles, Cleaning products etc. Going through a section on Reklam Marken from 1900 onwards I see similar fonts as part of Company Logos, (Although not this exact one) If pre or post 1918, I am ussuming this was a Drugstore article. For me the door is still open to it being pre 1918, with its WW1 paint color, the other door to post 1918 is also open... I will continue to look...
    13. I have a few extra Kahn Flaschen and have put them hee on the forum for sale if anyone needs one/some Best Chris
    14. Mühlheim and the Ruhr area saw some pretty harsh Freikorps action... This is a large death notice/letter for Vizefeldwebel Rosenkranz, of Freikorps Schultz, survived the war, but was shot in the stomache and died of his wounds on the 20th of March 1920 http://denkmalprojekt.org/2010/vl_8_lothr_ir159_u_fk_schulz_FKSchulz_wk1.htm It is actually a pretty well documented area and Freikorps, lots to be found online...
    15. Hi, thanks, I had no reason to suspect post WW1 as it was in a WW1 group, but Confirmation is always good.
    16. It was so infuriating to know the seller COULD have gotten the name of the officer, but did not at the time because it was of no interest to him :-(
