      They did not seem to hold it against him, sent him to a regiment where he was involved in the March offensive in 1918 and wounded....

      As we can see, him and a friend deserted for a month... seem to have gotten a suspended sentence.

      Thee Germans seemed to have viewed it as a harmless action... These photos MAY be the guy, shoulder numbers match... were with the docs... but there is no mention of a promotion in his papers....

These are the only ones I followed... so I dont know what has already been sold and what is still to come.....

      I DO think about it.... :-( Stages in a mans life.... He realizes he is older than the playboy centrefold.... then he realizes he is old enough to be her father... then he realizes he is old enough to be in the landsturm.... It is somehow comforting and disturbing at the same time to think... if we went back in time... I would be too old "for all this sht!"

      Fantastic medal! Usually cavalry losses are more dramtic because the regts are smaller than infantry... ergo 300 men lost % wise is a whole lot of loss to suffer.
