    6. HI, how much variation is there to the Bavarian Buckle? I think of them as "There is a brass and nickle version... and a steel one...." ... but with Saxon ones there seem to be way more variation (I am talking the standard one here, not regiment specific. Sttel, brass, zink etc.. Were the saxons simply more experimental?

    11. Hi Glenn, thanks for that. It is strange to think that in 1914 they marched out with black Belts, but brown ammo pouches, bino cases, map cases etc... and the soldiers had black leather but the officers brown? BestChris
    12. I am having a bit of a problem figuring out who wore Brown and who wore black Belts? And who wore white ones (With the Bunte Rock) I thought a prewar Bavarian soldier would have worn Brown, but have recently been informed they wore black.... so who wore brown?? Thanks Chris
    13. Told you so ! :-) Winkelblech was killed in the battle for Saarburg on the 20th of August 1914. The photo above shows his company marching in the town after the battle....
