Well, too funny! Bogus engraving, bad beading, wrong pin, bad core, etc., etc., etc! The only thing worse is this fabulous, fake Grand Cross that could be yours for a mere $3750!! 😂

These are all very beautiful awards, even the lower grade crosses and medals. I used to have every one cased and in the outer cardboard boxes. They all came from Detlev Nieman years ago. And you can’t argue with the beauty of the RKs either!

Good Morning Vince! Absolutely fantastic to see a boxed and cased example of this RK, I’ve only had one like it back in the day! They very rarely show up cased but the paper outer carton is exceptionally rare and hard to find. Add that ribbon bar and buttonier and you have a very unique set! Thanks for sharing!!

Not sure this was noticed but (again), many thanks to @Daniel Krause, I was able to pick up this small St. Henry Ribbon Bar in Germany. Not very sexy, but it fits my niche and I like it! No way to ID, unsure if a promoted NCO or an officer. 1914 EK2 St. Henry Albert Order ms Honor Cross

I know Scharffenburg made and marked their crosses, is there a label on the bottom of your case @CRBeery? I also know other makers did not. I’ve seen this both ways for this cross.

This very nice enlisted Saxon Bar snuck through Germany for only 160-Euro. I was out house hunting and missed the end of the auction! Oh well

Hi Alex, I guess it’s possible this cross has been copied but I was unaware of that. Years ago these popped up infrequently and there wasn’t much demand. That has certainly changed these past few years and prices for this cross have increased dramatically. I don’t see any huge red flags and I like the home made trifold we often find on Saxon awards. Is the seller a reputable dealer?? A cased example recently sold on eBay.de for under 300- Euros

There are copies of Imperial German Award Documents on US eBay right now. They were listed as copies and they don’t look very good but they are out there

Nice to see a gold one! I remember the first KO3, cased, that I bought about 25 years ago. When it showed up I thought it was a copy because it felt like it weighed nothing, I cranked at the seller. I’ll always remember his response! “Umm, it’s real gold dummy “ lol!😆

Unless it’s coming from a known source, collection or dealer, the market has become that unstable and flooded with garbage!! We all make mistakes and I’m trying not to make the same ones twice!!
