    1. Hello Gentlemen, my interest in frech medal bars and ribbon bars is increasing. I´ve got this nice ribbon bar from a friend of mine. Now I would like to learn more. I tried to determine the ribbons but I was not successfull with all of them. Here my results: The Order of Social Merite The War Cross 1939 - 1945 The War Cross for foreign operational theatres The Combatant´s Cross The Colonial Medal The 1939 - 1945 Commemorative war Medal The 1943 - 1945 Italian campaign Medal The Indochina Campaign commemorative Medal The Insignia for the Military Wounded ??? Order of the Million Elephants and the White Umbrella ??? The Order of Quissam Alaouite Knight
    2. Hello Gent´s, it is the medal bar from Schloßportier Michael Glausch, the key for Identification was the Hessian Verdienstmedaille and then with the help from an saxonian collector it was easy to find out the Name. Kind regards Andreas
    3. Thanks Ulsterman, the longer I have a focus on it the better I like it, and as I started to do some research on the medals I´ve learned a lot from the story behind the medals. Salutations Andreas

Now I´ve learned that the clasp Tonkin is at the least an award from the earley 1920´s and the Tonkin Expedition commemorative medal is arround 1885 is it possible that someone can be soldier allready 1885 untill NCO in the early 1920´s ? I know that this was possible in the imperial German forces, was this possible in the French army too ?

    7. Hello Gents and collector friends, I have a question to my Tonkin clasp. Is it possible to date or find out who was the producer ? It deviates from other campaign clasps for the Médaille Coloniale. All thoughts and opinions apprechiated. Kind regards Andreas

    24. Hi and thanks Bison, the first bar on the Médaille Coloniale is Tonkin. The clasp is old mounted on this ribbon, I´ll try to make detailphotos tomorrow. What I don´t understand is the 1900 Chine 1901 clasp on the Médaille commémorative de l'expédition du Tonkin. Regards Andreas
