    1. Thanks, and as I now know, his old style ribbon bar with KO 4, SWA Medal, Centenarmedaille, SA3b and TM4
    2. Hello Rick, I forgot that I´ve started this post. Thanks for the attached informations . The family told me, that he has served at the SB, but they didn´t know the history about the silver goblet from SMS Stosch. I appreciate Your´s large knowledge and I promise that I don´t use it any longer as pencil holder. Andreas
    3. Sorry Glenn for not responding to Your reply. I´ve complete forgotten that I´ve asked for informations about Firmenich. With Your friendly help I could in the meantime check him in the 1914 Rangliste. There he already had KO 4, HP3b, SA3b and TM4. In the Ehrenrangliste he is mentioned as Major a. D. So now I´m sure that this is his ribbon bar. Thanks Andreas
    4. Hello Paul, the medal from the crown order didn´t exist as silver gilded version. I think that Matthew is thinking on the württembergische goldene Militärverdienstmedaille, there are many silver gilded fakes arround, as genuine these have to be almost 333 gold. The yellow ribbon on this bar does not belong to the Centenarmedaille, I think it´s the Verdienstmedaille von Baden, please have a look on the bar from App.I´m not sure if it has to be the Medal from Friedrich I ( like App ) or the later model under Friedrich !!. Regards Andreas
    5. Hello Christer, here his award document for the Commemorative Medal of the War of Liberation, 1918 may be You can add it to Your list too ?!
    6. Sorry, this can´t be the medal on the third place, it´s rather the medal on the 5th place. The medal on the 3rd place has a higher priority, please have a look on my medal bar from App
    7. Himself with ribbon bar and Mecklenburger Militärverdienstkreuz 1. Klasse Baltenkreuz and Schwarzes Armeekreuz der russischen freiwilligen Westarmee Fürst Awaloff Bermondt Regards Andreas
    8. Hello Gents, the Lippe House Order was the solution. As I last night phoned with Salomon we talked about this bar and I remembered that I´ve got a silver goblet with a engraving " Die dankbare Familie Woge ihrem lieben Baumeister Blumenthal " As Salomon checked the Lippe awardlists he found Geheimer Bau- und Regierungsrath Blumenthal EK 2 ´70, KDM 70, LWDA 1, RAO 4, Centenarmedaille from DOA 04/05, and Lippe Detmold Ehrenkreuz 3. Class, born 12.01.1846 We think this is the right guy. May be someone out there has further informations where he got his EK ´70. RAO 3 mit Schleife and Kronenorden 3. Klasse. Kind regards Andreas
    9. Thank You very much for this compliment, it makes me a little bit proud. On this way I wan´t to say thanks to all Research Gnomes for their essential work Thanks Andreas
    10. Thanks to Rick Research and Glenn for confirming the Oldenburg award. Sorry, it was not my intent, to spoil the view and here we have the whole beauty Regards Andreas
    11. Hello Glenn, I think that his rank wasn´t high enough to be mentioned in the Hofstaat Handbuch. May be we have found him already. His name is spelled in three different ways. His name could be Windelband, Windelbandt and Windelbrandt. With a lot work in Hessen and Baden list, I could confirm the AEZ from Hessen and the VM from Baden. My german friends could help with Preußen Kreuz zum allg. Ehrenzeichen and AEZ, Mecklenburg silberne Verdienstmedaille Friedrich Franz III. für Zivilverdienst, Reuss goldene Verdienstmedaille Does somebody have access to the list from Sachen, Oldenburg or Weimar and could be so kind and check the three potential names ?! Regards Andreas
    12. Hello Glenn, nice photo. Von Wachs served in WW 1 and died as General der Infanterie zur Disposition on 02.07.1916. Regards Andreas
    13. Yes, he´s wearing his Commandercross around his neck and on the medal bar his knightcross Andreas
    14. Hallo ccj, this should be Generalleutnant Bruns but I´m not 100 % sure. Regards Andreas

    16. Hello Rogi, it´s an serbian medal and the hallmark VM is Vincenz Mayer Wien, he manufactured some serbian awards. Regards Andreas
    17. Thanks Glenn, for Your fast reply. If it is desired I´ll post the whole photo. Kind regards Andreas
    18. Hello Ulsterman, it is a Landwehrdienstauszeichnung therefore I think that he only was enlisted person. The Austrian Merit Cross is on the peactime ribbon. In my opinion a bar before 1914. I´ve checked the Hessen Verdienstmedaille recipients untill 1909, there You can find for example: Kammerlakai Leibjäger Hoflakai Kammerdiener Hofkutscher and so on Regards Andreas
    19. Hello Gentlemen, is it possible to date this photo more precisely ? In my view it is Oberst Wachs from the Kriegsministerium Zentral - Departement. Greeting Andreas
