    1. Hi, just been looking at an old thread with a painted plaque you made; wonderful stuff!. My Dad was a glider pilot ;)

      Are you serving AAC?.

Wotcha Andy, I work with AAC these days, although 22 days to go and counting - hooray. The plaque was done for a retiring Major of the AAC. All round cool dudes those Glider Pilots, once they did their stuff they were also trained to join in with the fighting until lifted back to fly in another wave....

How do mate, good to hear from you. When you say you work with the AAC, does that mean you're attached to them but from another Unit, R.E.M.E perhaps?. Wow!, lucky retired Major is all I can say, I could actually recognise the exact pattern of wartime Army Flying Badge on that plaque, that's how well it was painted. Got to agree with you, those glider pilots were a true elite and very deserving of our respect. I've been researching the regiment (and my Dad's service with it) for over 11 years now.

I work on a consultancy basis helping to deliver the WINFRA project at Yeovilton. Its all the new accommodation, hangers, QM stores, mess, transport, workshops, armoury etc etc for the influx of new Wildcat/Merlin sqns and rehousing Commandos/Junglies.
