Hey rich. I'm going to agree with Claudio on this. The medal insignia are post WW2. And yes claudio, here are the close ups. Is it possible that a parratroop division is based out of bolonga?

Hello Mervyn. I can't Id all of what you have but I can point out a few things. The insignia with the star with cross in the middle is a medical insignia. The bullion in the bottom row (3rd going left to right) is the royal finance guard. The insignia made with black cloth are late war issue. I like your Ethiopian ribbon bars.

Thanks Claudio for the clarification. I didnt know that the document woukd specify in whst way the veteran was involved in the war. My guess was patrisan because the document didnt mention anything about prior military service.When I first askasked the seller about the group, he didnt know anything about it.

One more for today. I know these were issued to military as well as civilian personal, but something tells me he was a resistance fighter.

The adriti cross, partisan star, and tank badge are modern makes. But everything else is origional to its respective time period.

That may depend on everyone's budget. But for me it certainly was. The winner is actually apart of another online forum and posted it on the site.

Irish, nice find. i have one of these as well. i think its pretty cool that the government acknowledges the Mothers and Wife's that send their loved ones off to war. Claudio. as always, a lovely set indeed.

Technically, the crowned Z means it came out of the Royal Mint. Other Mints are private manufactures. S&J and Zecca still make medals to this day. But the Z hallmark means that it's government issued.

Hello all. This Silver Valor medal was awarded to Henry Forrest for his actions during the Great War. There are something's about this medal that I'm not 100% convinced about. It's known that veterans bought copy's of their awards until presented with the real deal, but this copy doesn't have any hall marks on it. Now the engraving. I'm no expert, but I've never seen a half script Half print engraving. Also a friend of mine pointed out that the engraving isn't even centered. Another thing that's suspicious is the date, note that there is no year. Just the month and day. Yet in the discriptipn it mentions the year. Even in the discriptipn it fails to mention his status as an ace. I'm no expert, but for thoese who are interested in something like this, please use caution. And if I'm completely wrong, good luck to the bidders.

I just had an interesting thought. Elmar, you said that Colbertaldo may have served long enough to eligible for the award. do you think its possible that he may have been sent to East Africa in the Late 30s'?
