Lol! Chip hasn't seen the helm pic yet in the flesh there is something alright, one has to remember sometimes you have to look real close to realise a soldier is wearing a camo helmet in original photos not a plain job.. One day I'll find a W1 pic with the dude looking to the right and bingo....job done. Eric

Two Imperial proofs on left side of receiver. All numbered parts are matching including both orig wood bottom magazines, one magazine having the period mark (276.) indicating it to be the original magazine to the pistol, the other without the period indicating it to be the spare. Speaking of the stirnpanzer which we weren't my chum kicked up one in similar circumstances years ago just walking through the old battlefield woods day dreaming. If you want one you'd better hurry I hear the cleaners are ruining the old fields, the blighters. Why oh why can't they just leave alone next they'll be kids running around with ice creams its disgusting and really pisses me off! Let me ask you Gents a question 'Do you get the same feeling walking on a US Civil War battlefield'? NO? YES? I feel I'm in a manicured park its a shame and not right thousands died in these fields!! I'm dreading 2014......... Rant over Sorry. Eric

Chris If you need charcoal for your outdoor grill they do sell it you know. They is a story of a reenactor hitting the dirt wearing a mask some say it was the poison in the mask but more likely he just collapsed from the effort, they must have been tough as old nails to wear them in combat me thinks. They are a bit of a pain to display love the way Karel does it I used to just hang mine from a shelf. Lol the stirnpanzer is funny to if you put it on a helm the whole lid just flops forward! Ed you can build a wooden frame come on, buy one. Eric ps I bought a copy not long ago....$125 funny enough they are very good well made.

Thanks Chip Joe thanks for showing Have you not ever had the chance to own a pr of issue socks? I have but fainted at the price they're not much different to early TR issue I thought at the time. I'll try to take some pics of my 'undies' this week. they are kind of an awkward collectible think I'll put mine on a mannequin. Eric

Early Spatentasche
Hoss replied to Joe Sweeney's topic in Germany: Imperial Uniforms, Headwear, Insignia & Personal Equipment
Joe that's pretty cool I look at these as the classic W1 carrier as the regular grunts entered the war. I think there was also a cavalry pattern of this single loop without the ring.... Chip? Eric
