    1. A new addition to my collection, I believe it says 'von Klufer' but I cannot verify this or, indeed find much infomation regarding this Officer.
    2. Dave, thanks for all that information, I initially thought that the man lower right with the cap was a member of the DAF, just goes to show you need to check these photos and then check again. I have tried high resoulution scans of both his cap badge and the lapel badge without much luck I'm afraid. (need one of Ricks epsons!) Rick, thanks for the translation.
    3. Very interesting thread, thank you. This photograph is a recent ebay paurchase where it was advertised as a group of Kreigsmarine Officers :speechless1:
    4. Wheeler finishes his diary with this watercolour painting of ships. As I said at the start, no major battles or actions but plenty of day to day information detailing life in the Royal Navy. Hope you Gentlemen enjoyed this and again, any help with that medal identification would be appreciated.
    5. Page 27, Sailor drops dead after drinking a bottle of whiskey of 'German Brew'! and his last diary entry of '4 days leave'
    6. Page 22, sorry for the delay but we have to work to afford our passion! Working with Australians and meeing the Russians.
    7. Any chance of that close up of the bass drum in photo 3 please Ivan
    8. Leigh, do you think no 3 could be a Military School of Music, various cap badges being worn along with the marking on the drum?
    9. Number 1 is definately Machine Gun Corp, Number 2 could be The Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, but with the angle that the photo has been taken its difficult to be exact and as for number 3, I think a close up of the bass drum would be the best starting point for a positive identification.
    10. Have looked through the Ukrainien section of David Littlejohns 'Foreign Legions of the Third Reich' volume 4 but cant find any similarities in the uniform shown. The Ukrainien badges seem to usually feathure the 'trident' in them somewhere which is either missing from your man or is obscured. Sorry cant be of more help.
