    1. Hello to All I have these pair of Generalleutnant shoulder boards for years … but I have never been able to determine what branch these where for. The boards are on dark green velvet underground/piping similar to Forestry piping. Could be indeed Landforstmeister but I'm still unsure as this grade shouldn't exist as it stops at the grade of Generalmajor/Oberlandforstmeister without any pips. The pips look originally applied. Your help would be much appreciated. Marc
    2. Hello To All, 1° This is a very rare oval insignia of 13 x 12 cm. 2° It is beautifully hand embroidered in yellow thread. I let you guess what it is for ? All the best, Marc
    3. Dear Gordon, Many thanks for your clear and pertinent reply. This armband was indeed offered for sale as being for German Military Police on the Channel Islands. To me, it sounded too nice to be true. But on the other hand I didn't know that ex-Feldgendarmerie personnel were still employed by allied troops after the war. "Unfortunately", your explanation sounds much more realistic. Anyway this armband remains a very interesting and historic piece. All the best, Marc
    4. Hello to All, Here's something that retained my attention but I let you make the comments … All the Best, Marc
    5. Hello to All and thanks for the comments. Here's a close-up of the Clemens Wagner markings on the leather sweatband (as the Schirmmütze is brand new, I mean without any patina, the embossed markings are barely readable): Clemens Wagner logo - CW WIRKLICH Stirn-und Schläfendruckfrei D.R.P. u. D.R.G.M.
    6. Yes, I wrote 'modest' because it is the only TeNo piece I have ! TeNo uniforms are quite nice and I like this Schirmmütze quite a lot. Here's a shot of the inside. If it is not made by Erel, then it is made by ... Clemens Wagner. Best, Marc
    7. Hello to All, This is my modest contribution to this very interesting and unusual thread. Best, Marc
    8. Yes, Gordon, interesting also is the embroidered sleeve eagle. Interesting too is the rather severe attitude of the Wasserschützpolizei-officer ! Best, Marc
    9. Some purists will notice that the 'white' on the cockade is made of silver embroidery and not aluminium, this denoting an early made KM cap. Michel, corrige-moi si je me trompe ! Marc
    10. Concerning the eagle, here is a comparative close-up of the cap eagle and a basic Polizei sleeve eagle. The difference in size is obvious. Furthermore, the eagle on the cap is heavily padded adding a nice tri-dimensional look to it. Marc
    11. Hello Prosper, Gordon, and all other interested collectors, Below is, as you mentioned, a period photograph (sorry, taken from the French book : "Les coiffures militaires du IIIe Reich"-1980) Marc
    12. Gordon, I really appreciate your sincere comments on this truly unusual and untouched Wasserschützpolizei-Schirmmütze. And yes, the Polizei eagle on dark blue is very beautifully embroidered. I shall post a better close-up because the swastika looks worsely embroidered on the above picture than it is in reality. Marc
    13. Well, it seems that I'm out of practice as I posted twice the same picture ! Here is a close-up of the beautifully hand-embroidered Wasserschützphttp://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_06_2010/post-139-127723238899.jpghttp://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_06_2010/post-139-127723238899.jpgolizei insignia. Best, Marc
    14. Well, Gordon, you seem to be the only one to spot unusual and rare items ! As requested, here is an inside shot of the Schirmmütze. The Schirm/visor is made of leather, like an "alter Art". Note that the cap has been checked by our KM-friend Michel and that it is made as per KM-Schirmmütze regulations. Best, Marc
    15. Hello to all of you specialized collectors, I thought this Schirmmütze for a Wasserschützpolizei-officer would be of some interest to share with you ? Enjoy, Marc
    16. On the reverse of the Luftzeugf?hrer-Abzeichen we can read the initials of the pilot : W.G. (Wilhelm Georgens). I remember that there was also his more commonly seen ?Juncker? Luftzeugf?hrer-Abzeichen for everyday use (without case) in, of course, worn condition but I couldn?t buy all the items ? and had to make a ?difficult choice?. But I think I made the right choice, no ? Marc
    17. Rich wrote : Langemark also found a grouping at the 2006 Kassel show with a mint OM in the same case but unfortunately the pics are no longer in the thread. Hello Rich, I?m sorry that the pictures of the 2006 Kassel show disappeared. Me too, I somewhat disappeared from the militaria world and forum for several months and didn?t notice your comments until now. So I?m pleased to post again the pictures of the absolutely mint and fabulous ?OM?-marked Luftzeugf?hrer-Abzeichen in original mint case I got at the Kassel show. The badge retains all its original frosting. It is a part of a little grouping having belonged to a soldier who started in the Panzers and later moved to the Luftwaffe ! Marc
    18. Hello, This cap comes from my collection. I wish I could be able to post clearer pictures here on the GMIC, Best, Marc
