    1. Yes I think it is a 1920's bar .It is still an original as far as I am concerned .The background on the very old bars was more sandy.I will try to make a good photo
    2. Thanks guys this till requires some more research as the swords are different also. .I will try to get to the Turkish moderator .
    3. Odulf thanks for the picture. You will note however there is a distinct difference in that that my ribbon green stripes are right on the edge! It is also unlikely I think that he would have got the turkish medal as I do not believe he served in Turkey as he was in DSWA in WW1 and was captured there .
    4. I saw the other post on the golden Lyiakat medal and the ribbon colors are not the same .My ribbon is red with green edge stripes much like the Bavarian Luipold Jubilee medal (which had no swords though!)
    5. I see the one wears a mens buckle with Imperial Crown ? and the other a plain Askari type buckle which looks wider (in height)?
    6. The Wilhelm Schniewindt group with the Colonial Service Medal with Kamerun Bar as posted in wearers of PLM
    7. Oberleutnant Ernst von Raben in the earlier last photo Prussian Red Eagle Order 4th class with swords, Prussian order of the Crown 4th class with swords,Wuerttemberg Miltary Service Order 3rd Class Knight .This is in accordance with the Ordens Almanac 1908/09 and the 1908 Prussian Rank List which is also evident on his photo (even if it is not such a clear image when enlarged!).Chris maybe you can enlarge it on your original photo for us. Looks like his sword is the colonial officers sword with crown pommel and officers portapee and 1907 darkened /anodized scabbard with two carrying rings and leather carrying straps complete. Nice colonial officers parade belt and buckle and Oberleutnant jacket with red piping for Kamerun (I think) and officers lanyard . In the earlier 1921 photo the medal ribbon I believe from left to right Iron Cross 2nd class, Prussian Red Eagle order 4the class with swords, Prussian order of the crown 4th class with swords, Prussian Military Service Cross (Dienstauszaichnungs kreuz), Wuerttemberg Miltary Service Order 3rd Class Knight? ,Kolonial Service medal with bars (Kamerun)? Mecklenburg Greifen Order 3rd class Knight ? ,then unknown
    8. This impressive medal bar belonged to Dr.Hans Hanneman who served in DSWA from 1904 up to 1915 .He then had some service in the 3rd Reich period .The last medal ribbon with swords on the extreme right of the bar I am not sure about .I have not been able to ascertain what it is nor when it was awarded .

    10. Alex, Thanks for that .This Ehrenpreis clearly differs from the standard one and must have been specially made .One finds these variations even in the third Reich were special presentation pieces were made which vary from the standard .I have no doubt this is an original period piece as the quality and markings are all there and above all it is solid silver! I must have been presented for a extraordinary event and I hope I will be able to find out with further research .It might be possible to trace the family.I have managed to do this once with a PLM recipient .
