    1. Guys, As stated above, there are a couple of doubles if anyone wants them. I like the SA sign in the background.
    2. Bernhard, I hadn't even looked at the dates, I guess that may explain why they got back to Germany then being so close to the end? I hope they are of use to our WW1 enthusiasts!
    3. Guys, I think this is of the period and no doubt the sort of thing used in the field.
    4. Guys, Another bargain today at €20, I have seen these before but never bought one due to the stupid prices. They have seen a lot of use with running repairs but better than nothing and like i said realistic pricing.
    5. Guys, I think a bargain at €5 today as this looks to be period produced by the Army/Div? cartographers on what appears to be recycled old maps. Perhaps of interest to Irish Gunner are the arty positions. The other positions appear to have been edited but are the same units as they are visible when held up to the light. There are three maps, all recycled but only two are marked up, I have shown the reverse of the previous maps.
    6. Guys, Sadly denazified no doubt for ebay? Apart from that it is intact and half decent condition wise.
    7. Eric, Sorry that may not have come across correctly but the article is in the public domain is what I meant and is a good read. I don't doubt these camos were out there but back then but folks were not that interested in them I dare say. It is with the onset of these sites collectively and their use for marketing purposes by the dealers to drive what is fashionable to own now that grates a bit. I do think of forums as rooms of interested parties for sure but all too often for very different reasons. Dealers should be visible on all sites before things may improve at all but I personally think it has gone too far we are holed below the water line and it is just a matter of time before we go the way of stamps and trains etc. To that end I have tried not to comment anywhere if I have nothing posative to say so that means I am quite quiet these days.
    8. Got another pile of these, Routes Star, Oak, Heart and I guess Palm?
    9. Eric, I know the site that you lifted that from and it is a good read at times, I was only concerned that at one point he came across as a Holocaust Denier. I understand why the 'Burgundy' lot hate it as the sheep would be worried. That said there are no absolutes and I am sure soldiers used what ever came to hand so at times an open mind other times clearly not. The problem is there is a 'God' in that area and he is dictating to the hobby and the market what is and isn't correct and no one dare challenge him. A very sad state to be in. Please see attached an original DAK helmet with locally sourced paint. Not really it is just my old lid from Op Granby, no helmet covers were available so we used some local 'acquired' paint, I think it was stolen from the US Marines. If we had not gotten any I am sure we would have pillaged the Saudies.
    10. Bernhard, Thanks for the help, I don't think you missed anything but his Pass or Soldbuch is not there so it is just an insert like the ones you often see pasted into the books so we will never know I suppose. Cheers.
    11. Guys, Got this today, EK2 doc and what looks like an extract from a pay book a travel document and I am not sure of the fourth bit of paper but it mentions Celle which is local.
    12. Eric, It is marked in the centre and I didn't open it, it has been put away now I will have a look tonight after work.
    13. Well, every day is a school day! I have learned something new. Cheers
    14. It is very easy on the eye! I shall keep my eyes open, you never know what you will find. I presume it has a big brother in the form of EK1?
    15. Who would have a posh cross like that then, royalty?
    16. There is a bloke called 'BenVK', I think he is on WRF and possibly WAF as well, he has a reputation for being able to sort this sort of thing out and by all accounts he is very good at it. Give him a spin and see what he thinks?
    17. Well you can't go wrong at that as I think a half decent copy would cost about 10 BPS? I hope it is a good one for you, if you post it on the skulls thread, you might get an opinion quicker?
    18. I would think Robin is your man for this, it looks good but I have one similar somewhere that is a copy and I can't lay my hands on it at the moment to provide a comparison. The one I have is on a Nylon backing and detail wise is very good. Sorry I can't be more helpful but I have tended to stay away from SS stuff.
    19. Been to Suffield or 'BATUS' quite a few times. They say it is the size of Wales yet in all my time they never really changed the Exercises in any meaningful way. Except after a bad patch in 1994 where we had a few safety mishaps. I think they stopped the 'Danger Close' demo for a while!
    20. Brian, Thank you for the extra pictures, those batteries must be like rocking horse dropping to find is such good order for their age, I thought I did good yesterday with my TR phone and battery but you have given me something new to hunt for. Cheers
    21. Guys, Again not unusual in itself, just the date is rather hard to find, this is my first and it lay in the scrap for a few days before I spotted it. the colour appears a rather weak 'ordinance tan'!
    22. Guys, Went out late again yesterday and as the weather was not the best it was a fairly crap day except for this phone. Nothing special in itself but another sleeper with its 1943 dated battery still fitted. Sadly I damaged the label when removing the battery but it was unavoidable as the battery itself has distorted over time and has expanded around its center. I will leave it out of the casing now to avoid any further damage. all the components are original to the period. Quite often these are replaced post war as these phones have enjoyed a long life in use.
    23. I think I may have to take my tinfoil hat off and join facebook to recce these sites. I will let you know what I find, the shame is I would have given him €40 for it before it was edited so he has made no great gain as such. I am worried it is going to be a general trend here now and that the damage to the books will be irreversible, such a shame! I will do my best to find the clown.
