The 2002 english language version by Helion and Company is ISBN: 1874622701. Translated by C.F. Colton, MA. No mention of Duncan Rogers though. If you have patience they come up on Ebay once in a while. Got mine for around $30.00
From EBay . . . description was Middle Eastern but so far not identifiable by me. It's a beautiful 'rack' but I am clueless (it might very well be upside down). Any assistance is appreciated.
GSDF meaning Ground Self Defense Forces Out of my area but interesting nonetheless Left - Northern Army Right - 11th Division of the Northern Army The colors on the top indicate the arm of service (Infantry, Arty . . .) but I'm not sure. References are few and far between.
Not much . . . The badge in post #2 is from the Forces at Hoa Hao, the 2e Commando was posted at Hoa Hao, but their badges are different. Hoa Hao is in the Tan Chau district which is WNW of Hanoi. Not far at all from Dien Bien Phu. A good reference is French Airborne Troops Wings and Insignia by Jacques Baltzer and Eric Micheletti It covers only Airborne and such but is worth the price.
Nice score Daniel ! Not much on TJ Master . . . he did make it to Air Marshal and was still around in 1999. I'll keep looking. added: Retired on 31 Dec 02 as Air Marshal, Chief of The Training Command Became President of the India Air Force Association in 2003. http://www.indianairforce.nic.in/afsqnn1.htm
Temporary promotions happened in WW1 as well. Captain in 1917, and by the end of the war a Colonel. In 1920 reverted back to Captain, a month later (or less) promotion to Major and promoted to Lieutenant Colonel 15 or so years later. Ii happened to Patton, Eisenhower, Bradley and others.
Reunited . . . in cyberspace if not physically My bars are retirement pre WW1, the medal bar is during or post WW1 . . . nice to see it What happened to the Japanese Order of The Rising Sun (sixth from the left on the big bar) ???? Thanks Claudio
