His very, very nice medalbar is featured in Henny Meijers book about the Flying Cross. I don't think I can place a scan here without breaking the copyright? but then again I think that most of the dutch members have this book! ( page 121 ) Erik, Do you know where Henny found al the medalbars in his book? Or are they all from his own collection -

Herr General replied to Herr General's topic in Northern European & Baltic States
Thanks Jacky and Erik for your reactions. I found a number of persons in Mr Meijers book about the flying cross that recevied the Leopoldsorder or Order of the Crown with palm together with there Belgian Croix-de-Guerre. 26 persons received the Flying cross with the numeral "2", but one of them also received the British DFC. So there are 25 possibilities. Maybe I will be able to take a few of the list by looking again in The flying Cross book and on Erik his site! Erik, of course you may use this picture. I'm still in the process of buying it but I will mail you a scan asap, -

Here's a close-up of the bar from W.G. van Hoogenhuyze. Interesting to see that he kept the Austrian ribbons in the typical Austrian style. -
I stand corrected

Black Watch Group
Herr General replied to GraemeR's topic in Great Britain: Orders, Gallantry, Campaign Medals
Could you ask your friends dad if he has some info about a town the Black Watch liberated in Holland? It is a town called Heythuysen nowadays. During the war it was called Heithuijsen and Heijthuijsen. It is in the province of Limburg between the larger places Roermond and Weert close to the Meuse ( Maas ) River. -
