Hello Djed, I'm looking every where, every day for a nice dutch CDV without luck and you find this very nice example I will try to give you a list of the medals, Roel Rijks
I found a Dutch person who received a ( freely translated) Cross of Merit 3th class in the German Eagle Order on 6 september 1939. What kind of decoration would this be?
Erik, I was reading the newspapers in the archive and found out that the decoration was also called Black star of France. Zwarte ster van Frankrijk. I found one Police officer with a Officers class of the Star of Benin. H. Dijkstra Inspecteur van de Politie 1e klas te Amsterdam Het Vaderland woensdag 22 Juni 1938 Do you have more info on this man?
An ancestor of me was a Prussian Soldier. How can I find more info about him? Wilhelmus Timmermans Niederkruchten 25-02-1749 Died between 1788 and 1801 Soldier in the Army of the King of Prussia Frederik Willem II in 1787 ( Wesel Garnizoen )
Depends on the rules of the country of the wearer. In the Netherlands you wear your own countries awards first. Highest to lowest. Next are the foreign countries alphabetically according to the French names of the countries. If you have more then one award from a foreign country then you wear them also from the highest to the lowest award. I believe this is the case in most European countries?
If this is the second row of a group mounted alphabetically according to the French names of the countries, why is Austria ( Autriche ) in the second row?
Thanks all, here's one more. I made the names unreadable. I do not now how strikt the embassy is about pictures from there personel. What are the unit citations and what is the man on the right wearing between the Overseas Service Ribbon and the NATO Medal?

Wilhelmus Timmermans, Baptised on 25-02-1746 in Niederkruchten. Died somewhere around 1796. He was a Prussian soldier from 1783 untill 1787. Does anyone know what I can do to find more info about this person?
Thank you, that is the one! Are there forum members here that speak french and who are willing to google on Ordre du Merite Civil et Militaire d'Adolphe de Nassau to see if there is any information available on Dutch recipients?
