    1. Tim, Actually at the end of the book is about 10-15 pages of pictures. Since they were not makeing fakes in 1940 the images should be good. Maybe as a teaser I will post a page tonight.
    2. Actually I had another thought. I wonder how a English translated copy of the book would sell. If I did it in paperback, said it was based on H&S's book and changed a few works I would not have to worry about copyrights. I could sell the book for maybe $50. Opinions?
    3. I know the CKER in Juncker looks horrible. Would someone post a pic of what it should look like. Thanks
    4. I thought I saw a thread recently where a medal bar was traced to a officer of the SMS Wolf. I can't find it now but if you have a bar traced to this ship then you may want to check out Der Rittmeister's website and the Navy section as he has a few pics of the ship and crew. Good Luck.
    5. I checked it out. It is one book at 18 English pounds which is $36 and at least $15. for shipping, total $51. My CD would be 1/2 as much.
    6. I hope it is OK to do a little market research here. As most of you know I have been putting ranklists and research material on CD. My first three CDs have done fairly well and include ranklists from 1900 forward plus the 1908/09 DOA. For my next endeavor I am considering putting the Dr. von Hessenthal and Schreiber book "Die Ehrenzeichen des Deutschen Reiches" on CD. If you have been collecting Imperial German for any length of time you will know how valuable this book is. I think an original book from 1940 sells in excess of 200 euros. My question is would you be willing to pay 25 euros for this book on CD in Adobe PDF format? Understand I am not asking you to buy it I am just asking your opinion if it is a viable project for me. Please do not hesitate to give your opinion. If enough people say yes I will go forward. If enough people say no I will not. Thanks in advance.
    7. I really like doing these small restoration projects. I feel like I am putting history back together. I hate to see groups broken up. I have a really nice Saxon bar that I am working on restoring. I will try to find the thread or re-post it.
    8. I did not find a Major Keller or a PORBECK in the 1897 RL. I did find an Oberst v. Beck. Here is his entry.
    9. Does anyone have any information on a P. Von Borstell. His name is on a Langensalza medal I may bid on. I checked the 1879 Prussian RL and the 1908/09 DOA and nothing.
    10. Chet, I have a 1897 Prussian Ranklist on my Volume 2 CD. That being said what regiments should I look in to find this guy and what should I look for as far a letters and symbols?
    11. And that is one of the many reasons I belong to this forum!! Among the other reason is the friends I have made over the years and the people I have met.
    12. I just ordered the Anhalt Friedrich Cross and need to find the EM IX long service medal. When complete I will re-post. Anyone have a extra IX long service medal?
    13. I am tracing out a bar and need to know what Prussian Infantry Regiments was the Russian Czar honorary C&C of? Was he also C&C of an Wurttmebrg, Saxon or bayern regiments? Thanks.
    14. This is a really interesting bar to an officer who received the 1870 EK2. His unit was par of the IIIAK due to the bars. My question is would the guy have been with a Baden, Bayern or Mechlenburg unit? What is very interesting is the lack of the RAO and PCO. Any guess on the rank?
    15. I just started read a book by William E. Burrows title Richthofen A True History of the Red Baron, 1969. There are 2 interesting pictures in it; one is of his trophe room and the other is his grave in Berlin. Does anyone know if the grave still exists? One point of interest in the book is that, according to the author, Richthofen received the Iron Cross THIRD class in 1914. How interesting!
    16. I just picked this up this morning. A nice three position bar; 1914 EK1, Anhalt Friedrich Cross and EM LCS. I added a 1914 EK2 I had now all I need is the Anhalt Friedrich Cross and EM LCS. Stogieman ---- I am sure you have these missing 2 medal stuffed away in you hideaway??? Maybe next to your Cuban cigars..
