    1. I'm considering it Chris! I do have a growing Hindenburg cross collection and I'm interested in prussian awards. But the design of the TR stuff really gets me!
    2. I hadnt seen Don's site before. Its very informative, and shows this tag for what it is - a nasty fake. Im new to TR and shocked by the numbe of fakes out there, both good and bad. I think that over 2/3 of the items i have looked at to purchase have been fakes, possibly even more. I can see that i am going to have to do a lot more reading before getting my wallet out! Thanks for your insight guys Dan
    3. Afternoon gentlemen I have just had this offered to me, and im not so sure about it. What is the general concensus?
    4. Thanks Gordon I thought it was too good to be true. The hanger looks supsicious to my mind too. Dan
    5. Hi there with out a better picture my guess is the 6th Battalion, The Rhodesia Regiment. Not sure if that would fit with the light infantry/rifles though..... Dan
    6. Morning The nail polish remover took off the thick of it, but the ribbon is still rock hard and stained. Thanks for all your help. Lesson Learned.
    7. Hi chaps can you take a look at this for me please. Been offered this piece. Unsure about it. the photos leave quite a bit to be desired but they are all i have. Is it right? also here http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=38268 Thanks
    8. These are the only pictures i have, but they dont give me a good feeling.....
    9. Afternoon Chaps what can you tell me about this? is it the Knights Cross of the War Merit Cross? "1" and "900" stamped at the base of the lower arm of the Cross and the ribbon loop. It measured 54 mm across, with the oak leaves center measuring 18mm and the width of the arms being 3mm. Is it right?
    10. Had a terrible accident this morning with an exploded tube of superglue and my new parade mounted Hindenburg crosses ribbon is there anything i can do? its set rock hard and has caused a darkened stain. My mother always said i shouldnt have nice things... :speechless:
    11. The Hindenburg cross was always something i had overlooked until recently This thread is very informative and incredibly interesting. There are some excellent collections out there. So, without further a do, here are my first 3 crosses..... My 1st = RV24 Pforzheim magnetic
    12. I have used nail varnish remover too, rubbed over the affected area with a Q-tip. then rinsed the medal under warm water and dried off with a hairdryer. Sounds more like a beauty makeover! :jumping:
