Italy Italian Cap Badge

Italian Cap Badge the cap badge for Royal Carabinieri (Military Police) with the flaming granade and VE monogram to the centre Note the lack of sewing holes that is common on these badges. I have seen a number of these, but i think that this is the nicest one i have had. It is a shame that one of the pins has snapped. Would anyone advocate fixing the pin, or leaving it as is?

Hi Chaps Had this given today. My Grandad brought it back from his National Service days in the Berlin Airlift. He won it in a card game (there was also a Luger knocking around when my dad was a boy, shame that hasnt been passed down... ) Both the belt and buckle are in lovely condition and fully maker marked. The belt is uncut.

FrontlineAntiques replied to FrontlineAntiques's topic in Germany: All Eras: The Iron Cross
Hi Greg Thanks for the info. When i told the seller i was no longer interested the price dropped from ?160 to ?120 to ?100! If this cross had been genuine, what would have been an average selling price? Dan -

EK 1939 EK1 - Right one or not?
FrontlineAntiques replied to FrontlineAntiques's topic in Germany: All Eras: The Iron Cross
Thanks for the info Rich! i feel quite disapointed to tell you the truth. I have been looking for a nice EK1 to start off my collection for some time, and i thought that this would be the one. Never mind, im sure a nice one will pop up soon. Any pointers as to what i should look for? Is it more advisable to go for a meker marked cross as i will be able to make more comparisons with known genuine items? Dan -

I have been offered this peice for ?160. Does this seem a realistic price for this medal. I really like it but dont want to throw away my money.... Thanks Dan

Hi Chaps i have just been offered this EK1, unmarked. I am quite new to german medals, so could do with some help to identify it as genuine or not. It looks quite good to me but i cannot be sure. What do you think? The price asked is ?160. Thanks, Dan -
Hi I picked this up this week very reasonably A nice Reichswehr M28 belt and buckle. This is a single piece, heavy quality field type buckle rather than the light duty parade type. The Reichswehr was the 100,000 man army, in existence during the Weimar Republic and more or less conforming to the limits of the Treaty of Versailles. This is a worn example of the enlisted/NCO buckle for field use. The center features the eagle of the Republic and is integral with the body of the buckle. The robust catch is welded to the body and the pronged post is complete and undamaged. Traces of green paint on clasp? Belt tab is stamped "100" and initialed, but i cant make it out. At one time the belt had been used as a "hate belt" (dont like the term, but hey...), with various badges attached. I was able to also but some of these items (watch this space). Overall a fine representative piece from the early 20s Dan
