Dear fellow members,
I am trying to find out anything about the erkennungsmarke I just bought.
What I can see there is the following:
1 MD PBC
MAINSCHACK
110
13
Do you have any idea what Mainschack is?
Any information would be highly appreciated.
Kind regards,
Marcin
What a great thread you have here.
Would you have any information on Res. (F.) Artl. Mun. Kol. 52, 44 Res. Div. ?
I have a Militaerpass with many interesting entries related to that unit (particularly Kampfe am Toter Mann, Stellungkampfe in den Argonnen).
Well, I have Iron Time limited edition, and indeed - price of the book itself is not a problem, particularly when it comes to the quality of the book. However, in my view, the publisher should find a book dealer in Europe long time ago, so the shipping is not that expensive (33% of the shipped item).
Chris,
It seems that I have one with MK on the cover. See below.
Also - would you be so kind and try to decipher the service record of this MG guy?
Regards,
Marcin
Problem soved by Stephan of plaques-identite.eu.
Unit:
Ersatz Bataillon - 1 Garde Fuss Artillerie Regiment (First Garde foot artillerie regiment).
B.A. : Betriebs Abteilung (Management Detachment).
I think the tag has a mistake which makes it even more interesting.
Dear All,
I would like to create my own list of a "must have" books for Imperial German militaria collector (I am one). I am of course interested in awards, uniforms, documents and pictures from that period.
Do you have any suggestions?
Kind regards,
Marcin
Thank you Chip.
I have received a message from one of German militaria dealers that this one is a plate of Kaiser Wilhelm I. (1861-1888) as King of Prussia.
Regards,
Marcin
Dear All,
I would like to ask you for help with identifying the plate I present below.
I think that the "W" monogram may be assigned to Wilhelm III, but I am not sure.
Does anyone recognise the porcelain's signature?
Kind regards,
Marcin
Hi Jaba,
Thank you for your kind reply. I am looking for such reference because I have several pictures presenting German pilots from the Great War period that I would like to identify.
I have found that there are at least two worth-mentioning references i.e. "German Aces of World War I: The Pictorial Record" describing about 300 fliegers as well as "The Imperial German Eagles in World War I: Their Postcards and Pictures" (in three volumes). I will buy one or both positions and come back to you with my thoughts.
Kind regards,
Marcin
Dear All,
I am looking for a book about Imperial German aviators (pilots) that would describe all or most of them, as well as include their biography / pictures. I would like to ask you kindly for any recommendations with respect to this area of research.
Kind regards,
Marcin
Dear All,
I would like to ask about any details (order of battle) of Luftsperr Abteilung 2, if possible.
What was the role of the Luftsperr units in general?
Kind regards,
Marcin
Joe - it is a great collection. You should think about how to display all your documents and how to catalogue them. Maybe you should describe each of them on your own website?
Regards,
Marcin
Thank you Andy. Would you be so kind and provide me with any additional information on "Flügeladjutant des Königs von Württemberg"? Is it a common shoulder board?
Thanks,
Marcin
Dear all,
please help me with identification of shoulder board showed below. Can't decipher the monogram myself
Thank you and kind regards,
Marcin

Dear all,
I would like to kinldy ask you to identify the below individuals. I am particularly wondering if it is possible to identify the one with an award on his neck (first on the right on the second picture). Unfortunately, I do not have a better quality picure at this moment.
Thank you in advance,
Marcin
