    1. Many thanks, dear Mike, for your research! The information you shared with me and the forumites is greatly appreciated! I am looking forward to see another photo of Daeuwel... Ciao, Claudio
    2. I noticed that the description of this medal bar on Thies' Online auction is not anymore there. Has anyone saved the text of this article? There was a second bar depicted on top of the 10 place medal bar... I really need to know if in this description there was something more about being sold as part of a single group or separately. I am very thankful if anyone could help me. Ciao, Claudio
    3. He could probably have received a BMWK and if he was already in service before WWI also a Long Service medal. Claudio
    4. Thanks for your input... do you have more data on him? I don't have the "Wer ist Wer"... and I can't find him on my available lists... Nothing here... Seeoffiziere.tiff
    5. Spass bei Seite... I have found two Kohlhauers.... the first one was a RK-Träger des KVK and don't think he's the one: http://reocities.com/Pentagon/Bunker/7729/WEHRMACHT/HEER/Generalmajor2/KOHLHAUER_ERICH.html But the second I found, Otto Kohlhauer, he could well be... that black fabric backing on the reverse of the bar could also indicate that he was in the Kriegsmarine... http://www.axishistory.com/index.php?id=10326 Marine-Nachrichtenschule Waren/Müritz (N.S.Waren) (* 23.12.1941 from 1. Signalausbildungsabteilung ; moved beginning of 1945 : Flensburg-Mürwik) 23.12.1941 - 06.07.1942 KKpt./FKpt. Hans Kretschmann 10.09.1942 - 09.12.1944 FKpt./Kpt.z.S. Walter Roll 15.01.1945 - 00.05.1945 KKpt. Otto Kohlhauer and served in WWI as Oberleutnant z.See (http://home.foni.net/~adelsforschung1/rall05.htm). Maybe someone out there has more details on this officer... Ciao, Claudio
    6. @ Chris: I don't have a beard... besides I found it opening the box for the first time! Maybe it was of the auctioneer...
    7. Thanks Chris! @ Komtur: you are probably right... Yes, without any rolls available of the medals displayed in Kohlhauer's medal bar is pretty impossible to confirm his name and data. Ciao, Claudio
    8. Hi Albert, Yes, it could have been a pillow used for a funeral... but I don't have any proof of that. Unfortunately I don't have the name of this soldier... and there's no way to tell, I am afraid. ciao, Claudio

    12. A rarely seen veteran cross... and even very attractive to me.
    13. ...and the surprise when I got it by mail today and saw the reverse... a stunningly beautiful GODET! :jumping: :jumping:
    14. Dear forumites, Another group I acquired recently... A brave and proud Württemberg NCO WWI veteran. Some interesting veterans' association and Weimar era stuff... Ciao, Claudio
    15. I forgot to say that I also found a pubic hair in box... maybe the recipient was enjoying watching his medal bar playing with his family juwels (Billard spielen in German...) It could have tested for DNA research... Claudio
    16. Top of the box with the address of the Juweller Godet...
    17. Thanks to all of you for your kind words... @ Don: I was going to check the box... I might have found the name of the medal bar's recipient! It's not written but just scratched on the surface and you can barely see! :speechless1:
    18. No, that's the Bulgarian Order of Military Merit on the ribbon for bravery... Ciao, Claudio
