Hello Mike, The Imperial Russian Navy officers uniforms were different of that of other Navies . Firstly the cuff rank laces were not used .the rank was carried on the shoulders . secondly, the current naval badge of the anchor was not used on the cap . the cap badge was the same oval cockade used by Army officers. and other differences. In the movie Admiral of 2008 you can see a good recreation of officers uniforms.

Hello Chris. If Mr Brucker was alive post May of 1940, Its the most possible that he received the Hindenburg Cross .380 000 Alsatian and Lotharingians served into the German Army during WW1 with a very low rate of deserters most of them in the Eastern Front. About 18000 Alsatians and Lotharingians volunteered to serve with the French Army

Hello, Interesting history. regarding the career to become officer , first was the Royal Military School , which provided the proffesional officers. then the officers promoted from the cadre of career NCOS,as in France . finally the Reserve officers, The Belgian Army in 1913 was the subject of a vast plan of reformation and enlargement but at the outbreak of WW1 it was far from completed,

Hello, The Cross was created in the year 1930, destined to the Great War veterans.
The ribbon was bleu horizon with the stripes in madder red. the Vichy regime reinstallated the cross but with a ribbon bleu horizon with black stripes . it was destinated to the veterans of 1939 1940. In 1944 this Cross was forbidden. the year 1948 was reinstallaed and today is still awarded.
