    1. Hello , In the Prussian Army existed the Kapitulant . It was a trooper who after the two or three years of his Military Service willingly decided to stay in the Army (Kapitulation ) for Four more years , prorrogable to twelve in total. these Kapitulanten weared on the base of the shoulder board two silber bars , In the Reichswehr all the troopers were volunteers . In the Wehrmacht Heer a least the Kapitulant reappeared. The strange with your SBs is that are for a NCO and the kapitulanten were troopers up to Gefreiter .

During 1990 travelling from Koln to Berlin i had the ocasion of take a look to ex Deutsche Reichsbahn workers and officials and they weared the old shoulderstraps , but with the Soviet russian system . that is from one to four stars (pips) to denote specific rank. and the aluminium stars for lower ranks made in the DDR, are quite distinctive.

    4. Yes ,hard work, all hand embroidery, and with real gold or silver thread . sometimes the design was drawn directly on the cloth of the collar or cuff patch, then embroider . others the design was cut out of paper ,then embroider on and lately , applied to the collar or cuff

Anyone interested in German embroideries must take a look of the Site The Marshall s Baton ,althoug is dedicated o the Third Reich Generals . equally contains useful data. and last but not least ,the handcraft of 3rd rReich was the same of that of the Imperial times

      Hello!

      That seems to be right.

Hatzopoulus was commander of the IV.Army Corps and Karakollos was commander of Kawala. Or do I mix something?
