    1. Thanks, Gerd. I thought I was out of my mind spending that much on a mini EK until I had it in hand Here's a fairly common 70-71 KDM.
    2. From south of the border, a rather unflattering portrait of Le Duc d'Orleans on the 1845 unveiling of his statue.
    3. Celebrating the Unification. a Thaler size medal with Wilhelm I wearing the Imperial crown Silvered base metal.
    4. Great stuff, guys. Keep it up. The detail on these little jewels is amazing sometimes. This is kinda cheating, but here's a mini bow with a full sized EK
    5. With a full size eK and a view of the edge showing the 3 piece construction. C'mon, guys. I'm showin' you mine. Let's see yours.
    6. Possibly from the same maker (note the basketweave button), 3 piece EKII.
    7. My guess would be Masonic, even without the triangle above the crown.. After all, triangular cut diamonds are few and far between. Whatever, it's a pretty amazing piece of bling.
    8. The first use of balloons for military purposes by the French was in the Seige of Paris in '70-'71. 66 balloons with a total of 102 passengers were sent out, delivering 2 1/2 million letters to the outside world. They also carried 400 carrier pigeons for return messages. Of these 400 only 8 returned. 2 balloons were lost at sea and 6 captured by the Germans, but the rest landed safely. The last flight was on 28 Jan, 1871, carrying news of the Armistice.
    9. Bavaria, 1891. Prinzregent Luitpold.
    10. From 1885, der eiserne Kanzler
    11. Since Roman times famous people have been lauded in medallic art. Here are a few examples from 19th Century Germany. First, the hero of Waterloo, Marschall Vorw?rts by Loos. Probably from the late 'teens.
    12. Just a guess, but maybe a commemorative cup for "The Year of the 3 Kaisers", 1888? Could you show the other 2 medallions? Might get a better date from the age of Willi the Twoth.
    13. 5 and 10 Fenigow "mules" were also minted using the Polish obverse and German reverse dies.
    14. In 1917 a series of coins were minted in Hamburg for Poland in steel and zinc. The denominatios were 1 Fenig, 5, 10, and 20 Fenigow.
    15. My favorite, te Armeekreuz or Kanonenkreuz from the Freedom War. Made from the cannon Boney didn't need anymore. (maybe it's my 'thing" about recycling)
