    1. Do you mean GL Hermann Ernst Adolf Ritter von Mann Edler von Tiechler? If yes, Hermann was the son of Royal Bavarian Major z. D. Adolf Hermann Eduard Konstantin Ritter von Mann Edler von Tiechler (b. 27 May 1855 in Augsburg; d. 30 January 1921 in Ansbach), who was the son of Major a. D. Ernst Heinrich Paul Ritter von Mann Edler von Tiechler (1822–1895). VAdm Ernst was the son of the Bavarian Captain Klemens Karl Ludwig Ritter von Mann Edler von Tiechler (1829–1903). Ernst Heinrich Paul and Klemens Karl Ludwig were brothers, both sons of Oberst a. D. Karl Wenzeslaus Joseph Alois Ritter von Mann Edler von Tiechler (1773–1854). I hope this helps.

    5. Follow up: General der Infanterie Arthur Sigismund von Förster (1856–1934) was indeed the father of General der Infanterie Sigismund von Förster (1887–1959). Arthur Sigismund von Förster received the Pour le Mérite in 1901, does anyone know if he received EK II and I in WWI? Thanks!

I know now he was born on 27 May 1847 at Rittergut Carwe (Karwe), Kreis Westprignitz, Regierungsbezirk Potsdam, Province of Brandenburg, Kingdom of Prussia, German Confederation ... I read, he died 1920 (maybe Münster or Blankenburg?), but cannot find a complete date. He joined the Kadettenkorps in Potsdam in May 1860 and was Sekondeleutnant in the Brandenburgisches Husaren-Regiment (Zietensche Husaren) Nr. 3 in 1866 (stayed there until 1891), taking part in the war of 1866 and 1870/71. No known children with his wife Hedwig Florentine Charlotte Louise Marie Freiin von Zedlitz und Neukirch aus dem Hause Pischkowitz.
