    1. General Ovadovsky was awarded the Order of the Red Star #3593277 in 1968 while living in Tbilisi, now Georgia, and serving as Vice Commander of rocket (missle) forces and artillery of Zakavkazsky (area in the south of the U.S.S.R. near the Caucasus) Military Region. He was awarded the Order of The Red Star #3089468 in 1953 while living in Ananiev (22 Pushkinskaya Street, Ananiev, Odessa Region) and serving as Commander of the division of the 585th artillery Regiment of the 51st Sniper Brigade. 2. I thought to post the above-mentioned Order of the Red Star, its documentation, and as much as I have been able to translate. It appears the General received three Orders of the Red Star, #888704 in 1944, #3089468 in 1953, and finally #3593277 in 1968, which is currently in my collection. I am looking for the other two Orders of the Red Star, so if anyone has any leads, I would be most appreciative. There are two "Order" cards, and here is the first, and obviously the oldest.
    3. He is an excellent choice for the position. Congratulations, my friend!
    4. I thought to post some of my lower numbered examples. Let's see yours! Nr. 8236, awarded 1939. . . obverse: reverse: Nr. 12107, awarded early to mid-1940. . . obverse: reverse: Nr. 22749, awarded late 1941. . . obverse: reverse: Research is pending. . .
    5. Interesting hypothesis; Floch & Souval are both from Vienna. . .
    6. I am respectfully soliciting the best thinking of our august membership regarding this cross. Several hypotheses present themselves. On the one hand, it may be, indeed, a "23" maker maker cross for the manufacturing firm of Arbeitsgemeinschaft fur Heereshedarf darf In der Graveur-u. Ziseleurinnung, on the other, a Souval manufactured piece, possibly period, possibly post-war, onto which the "23" has been stamped on the underside of the pin. The core and frame certainly do not match the 23's I have observed in 2nd Class. What do you think? obverse: reverse: maker mark:
