    1. A good friend of mine showed me this gem this morning, part of his collection, it is a lovely First World War 4 pocket tunic, with overseas chevrons and wounded stripe, tunic is one that was made in the UK, and I was told the collar badges are also UK made. Just had to share the photos, I don't collect 1st War stuff, but I was impressed with the quality of this item, will let the photos do the rest of the talking, First up a general view of the jacket...
    2. and another portrait shot. Best wishes Bob
    3. Hi all, 2 photos that are KM related, in amongst an album I have that is predominantly Luftwaffe, there is of course the obligatory RAD photos as well, and a couple of guys in Heer uniforms, but I thought these 2 shots might be appreciated here... Bob
    4. Not really Paul. Here is another LW reference, along with Volume 2 that is very good.... Bob
    5. and to finish off for now, the Memorial's Me 163 on display as well. A sad story about this one, it still had all original paint and markings until well into the 70's, and was on loan to an aircraft museum here in Melbourne, and the lunatics there decided to repaint it in what they thought were smarter markings, the Memorial has since had it repainted as close to the original paintwork as possible and put it on display. It was boxed up from WW2 until the early 70's, so a great time capsule. Bob
    6. And, straying away from 109's for a little bit, this is a tail section from Heinz Wolfgang Schnaufer's Bf 110 showing his victory markings from his last aircraft...
    7. Absolutely no postwar paint on this one whatsoever, all 100% original....
    8. Great stuff! Here is a little something that will make some hearts flutter, it is on display at the Australian War Memorial in Canberra (Australian Capitol Territory), and is the only Bf 109 left in the world that still has it's original camouflage and markings left, and is in excellent condition, Some photos....
    9. I have never seen one of those before Sadolch! I too have a flight helmet with short cable, which I like to think is of the WW2 period, so have been following this thread with some interest, I hope some one can pass some info on your flight measuring helmet. Best wishes Bob
    10. and at rest... Bob
    11. Classic broadside...
    12. She even makes a flat top look small....
    13. Thanks Johnsy, it is one that I want to visit in the near future, Some photos from her glory days....
    14. I had the camera out earlier today, so took this shot of a frame of spec patches that I picked up locally, picked it up as is, looks nice... Bob
    15. Last one, just to keep in with a Luftwaffe flavour, some breast eagles from the book.... Bob
    16. This book did a lot towards pushing me into collecting stuff from the 3rd Reich period, it is getting a bit old and tattered now, with several loose pages, have had it for quite a while, and is probably one of the very first books I put on the shelf that deals with TR militaria...
    17. O and H on either side of the eagle with a J below, I presume the O & H are for Offizier Heim, and the J would be for the location (?) of where the officer's mess was located....
    18. Interesting cup with a green strip around the top, plus an eagle marking on the outside....
