    1. Hi Antti-do you want to count only the EKs with a maker mark or also the ones with just a silver contest stamp? I ask because there are some variations you will find only with a silver content stamp-for example the one stamped"Silber..or just "938".....a very filigran EK with a blued core-my absolute favourite of the 1914 EKs. And your WS-it's the one with the maker mark stamped in a little box or the other one with the slim pin? Totally different ones in my eyes....... Regards Micha
    2. Hello to all friends of the imperial iron! Here's my lates find....a beautyful "Hansen" EK! I was looking for one of these the last few years but nothing was offered to me.....I traded this one for a tank badge and a 1939 EK2! A few weeks ago I met a collector at a flea marked in my hometown-he told me he's collecting everything from the TR,but his major interests are Luftwaffe items...and he's got some imperial stuff he didn't know the reason he's bought it .So I was visiting him at his home(very impressive collection by the way). And I saw it......and asked for the price the same moment! He said 500?!!! Yes...Niemann is selling a few for this price. So we had a few beers and a nice conversation-and I had to leave with empty hands. But then a "Hansen" was sold at Ebay.de for 308?(he was watching this auction...) After that we had a few phonecalls-the result you can see here at the pics! I'm lucky, belive me(tonight a few beers more)!
    3. FR....not Fr,Gordon But yes,I prefer the imperial EKs,too! Micha
    4. Well,I know there's not much interest in 1914 EKs,but I got this nice EKs in today....first is a nice "FR"-I bought it as an upgrade to mine, but it seems to be that I was to stupid to look right(I thought my 1st one wasn't stamped clear). So now I have 2 of this not so common makers with a good visible maker mark ... And Nr.2 is a"regular" "WS",stamped in a box.Until today(I havent had one of this before) I had the opinion, both types of "WS" are from the same maker-just with different pins and maker marks......But now I had to find out they have nothing in common! Different cores, frames, pins, maker marks....... Micha "FR" Obverse
    5. This one dropped in today,a beautyful KMST pinback-totally marked with DRGM and KMST at the crossarms and the 800 silvercontent stamp at the needle. So just 3 more to go to complete the set.... Micha
    6. Of course it's possible that makers bought parts from others.....but-I have a few 1914EKs 2nd class to compare-and I have handled a lot more than I have in my collection now.Saying to compare the cores, frames and maker marks is worthles.....Uhhh!!Have you ever had a "G" in your hand? Or a "WILM"? I've got a few of both......The most makers have got a "typical" core! The frame is a bigger problem, there you can find a lot of different variations. But anyway-Who's ever the oppinion that these comparisons are useless....Ok! But have a look at KMST 1st.class and KM 2nd class-surprised? Micha
